~The average life expectancy was 47 years.

~Fuel for this car was sold in drug stores only


~Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.


~Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.


~There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles
of paved roads.


~The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

Browsing through thefulcrum I found a nice wintery layout (with cool little scrolly boxes) that seems to fit my mood (I like it!) and by butchered song lyrics came up with a new title *g* till I think of something better anyway.
But fickle am I as far as layouts go. Next week maybe something else.

from work to tell me I don't have to come in this evening. They're cutting hours due to low sales and I have mine in for this week. But, I know it's not going to happen.*pout*

Now I get to make cupcakes to decorate tonight and light the pumpkin lanterns.

-I don't think I've ever handled so many Halloween decorations in my life.
-Opened boxes and boxes of foam pumpkins and filled bins.

-Came home from work covered in black glitter.
-Think I'll take a nap.

I want to thank all my wonderful f-list for the emails and virtual hugs sent the last few days. I can't say how much you all mean to me, especially now.

We are doing surprisingly well and the arrangements are falling into place and as a simple family who deal with everything through humor we seem to concern and confuse some people. But that is who we are...so was she. So they'll just have to suck it up and understand or not. No apology.
All the business is pretty much dealt with and a Celebration of Life planned.
~Then after all that comes the hard part, the adjustment of living on without her in our lives~

One of her favorite hymns. My Grandmother was a radio gospel singer and she was pretty picky about this song.
This was the best version I could find she would like.

I'm sure this is nothing new, but very cute.

My Mother passed on quietly in her sleep this morning to join my Dad.
