From alaska_avo A regional tectonic earthquake occurred at 11:28 AKDT and was felt throughout South Central Alaska. This event is not related to Redoubt. The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center has a preliminary magnitude of 5.3 and a location 30 miles southwest of Talkeetna.

Menfolk have gone out four wheeling. We ordered BBQ chicken and babyback ribs with corn fritters from The Sourdough Mining Company (if you click on link beware of jingle).
Very happy.

Spent the best part of the day fooling around with my DW layout, between loads of laundry and watching the mechanic work on my car. The bright white was triggering headaches *boo*. But it was so bright and pretty. Ah well. This will do till I find something I like better.

Could the universe please tell me why when I made the appointment at the Doctor's office 2 weeks ago for my Mom's MRI, they waited until today to tell me she would need blood work done before her Monday AM appointment?
I guess they figured I didn't have enough to do this weekend.

Okay, you know when you do something silly and the consequences are painful and embarrassing?

Yeah, I hooked my boot heel on a step last week in a hurry to leave for church and went pot over teakettle down the stairs. Fortunately for me the kid in the other bedroom down stairs had left the ironing board leaning against the wall or my head would have connected with the bare concrete wall (remodeling still). Now the really embarrassing part. I yelped. Yep.
This undignified racket led to my son bounding down the stairs in boxers, my daughter jumping from her room (at the bottom of the stairs across the hall from our room) and T who was outside waiting at the car smoking a cigar (which is why I was in a hurry) to come running in the house to find out what said undignified noise was about.
I just got the wind knocked out of me but my feet were up the stairs and it took all three of them (I said it was embarrassing) to untangle me and get me on my feet in very small space (they are all bigger than I thus the embarrassing part). My back hurts some when I bend and I smacked my recently healed fractured elbow and have a lovely scrap to prove it. But all in all, I was quite blessed that nothing else was damaged (well except my pride).
Unfortunately, my rescuers felt compelled to relate their daring-do at church...to everyone they spoke to.
Yep, I've been getting calls all week. Good Grief I'm not that old.
A sad story indeed but I feel much better getting it off my rather generous chest.
Well sorta.
The best part? When T ran in he asks "Did you fall down the stairs?"..."Nope, I was just measuring the stairs from the bottom with my legs ...Here's your sign."
